Payment
When you book and set a date, you’ll receive an invoice for a 50% deposit on the final price. This, and a signed agreement, are due within 7 days of receipt to hold the calendar booking.
I understand that things don’t always go according to plan, so rescheduling will be flexible and free. However, the timeline for rescheduling will be dependent upon my availability. If you need to cancel, the deposit will be refunded if you cancel before the date set for manuscript delivery.
The remaining 50% of the invoice is due upon completion of the edit. Once I complete the edit, within 30 days, I will send an invoice due within 7 days of receipt. I will retain the work until the remaining balance is paid, upon which the edits will be delivered to the client.
Editing will not begin before the deposit is paid, and the edited manuscript will not be returned to the Author until the invoice is satisfied.
Because the economy sucks and I don’t want affordability to impact anyone’s dreams, if you need a different payment plan, we can discuss it.
Absolute minimum deposit of 25% required at time of booking on any project over $100.
Projects under $100 will not require a booking deposit, but will be invoiced for the full amount which must be paid before work begins.
Payments accepted: PayPal, Venmo, Credit/Debit Card, Zelle
Timeframe
PLEASE NOTE: Consider your word count before booking an edit. A 150,000 contemporary romance needs more self-editing before booking a developmental edit. A 200,000 word fantasy likely needs more self-editing before booking a developmental edit. The word counts in the listed resources are not absolute, but they are a good baseline. When you're paying per word, consider if your word count is where it should be before you hire someone.
