Ultimate Writing Goals
Oh, man! I am late to the party. Better late than never though, eh? Life has been super hectic the last month. I missed the June post because it was the last week of school for this tired teacher. I just moved into a new house this weekend and almost missed July!
Since I was a kid I’ve always had a dream to be a best-selling author. The kind who everyone recognizes and has movies made about their books, etc. That is the dream, innit?
While best-selling author status is still the ultimate goal, my perspective has shifted a bit as I’ve gotten older and grown more knowledgeable about the publishing world and what it means to be an author.
At this very moment, I’d say my ultimate goal is to get a manuscript in my hand. Although I’d love to sell a ton of copies, I just want to hold my book in my hands and breathe in that new book smell.
My ultimate goal hasn’t changed–publishing a book–but my perspective on the possible success of that book has changed.
I’d write more, but it’s been a crazy week! I’m wading through moving boxes to find things at the moment.
