September 2026: Happy 15 Years IWSG!

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. Hello, friends!

It has been a busy couple of months, and I definitely missed the August post. I've been so sick for the better part of a month, and I was just not feeling well enough to post. And, as you're reading this, I am on my way to Dragon Con for the next week! Next month, I'll give you a little run down of the fun times that occurred at Dragon. I'm volunteering again this year for the Writers Track so it'll be a lot of hanging out with (and herding) authors around. I'll also be moderating a couple of panels, which is one of my favorite things to do.

Lots of exciting things have happened in the last two months with my book. I finished my final edits and it went off to the printer. Just yesterday, my final author copies arrived! I wasn't expecting them until at least next month so I was shocked when they showed up on September 1st!

I also got my first trade review from Foreword Reviews. It will be featured in their Nov/Dec holiday issue. While I won't share the entire review here, it was glowing and made me cry. A few excerpts include calling The Tinsel Twist "a delicious mix of simmering danger and sizzling romance" and "a tantalizing romance novel." I was so scared of my first trade review because so many are harsh, but I was so surprised and honored to receive such a lovely review.

The biggest thing that happened is that The Tinsel Twist Advance Reader Copy (ARC) is live on NetGalley and it is "Read Now" which means you don't have to wait for approval to read it. I know for the 15-year anniversary for IWSG the instructions were to add a book for sale. If you like book reviews and author interviews, I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing debut author Stephanie Binx about her novel Hellbound that released August 25th, 2026. If you like gritty contemporary fantasy with a side of cosmic horror and a dash of romance, then you might want to check it out!
